Could be married. If he is then he may be considering infidelity, or he may be flirting or just miss being single.
His drinking mates
They'll be his colleagues and mostly or exclusively male
Bus contact
Others met as a result of bus contact, probably female
Possible story-types:
Thriller: Bus contact has a plan, which may or may not come to pass.
People from different worlds meeting or Adventures in normality: Bus contact is the same as doab guy - makes contact because they are drunk
